Company Profile

PINEL RESTRAINT DESCRIPTION
PINEL MEDICAL

PINEL wishes to expand its Distributor network world wide. Our experience over the last five years shows that when the Pinel unique characteristics are introduced into a new market,
especially one populated with similar products, the uptake of the Pinel is very rapid and market dominance soon follows.

REASONS:

- MATERIAL - items are made of Para Aramide (Kevlar is the Dupont brand of Para Aramide)layered by other specialized textiles that are both anti-microbial and frie retardent,

- RESULTS - this makes product much stronger, yet lighter than leather, releases moisture very quickly (half hour drying) and is very soft to touch,

- COST REDUCTION - uses concepts of universal sizing and multipurpose-use for common items, resulting in very significant cost reduction in hospital inventory (cut inventory by more than half). For example, use of Waist belt in both bed and
chair.

- COMMON PROBLEMS RESOLVED - Pinel’s new designs have also solved serious problems of violent and rapid restraining (5 seconds to four point restraint), patient comfort and prevention of asphyxiation when waist belt travels over thorax where it can cause asphyxiations. Note: lateral straps alone will NOT prevent asphyxiations.

- PROTECTED MAGNETIC KEY - the patented Pinel common magnetic system is unique in that all magnetic flux is maintained within the guarded portion of the opening Key. Stray unprotected magnetism could negatively affect important patient items such as Pace Makers or hospital equipment sensitive to strong fields such as Holter Monitors.

These are only examples of improvements. There are many more subtle ones that affect safety and patient comfort. Please visit us in Hall 16 at the Canadian pavilion at stand F41 and verify

Product Information
04.05 Walking and mobility aids
COMPLETE SYSTEM #7 in BAG #10 11.11.2007

The slotted bag (colour coded) contains:

Four Limb belts (#4),
One Shoulder belt (#3),
One Belt strap (large utility belt) (#8),
One Pelvic strap (#11),
One Waist belt (#1),
Two Side Straps (small utility belts) (#1A),
One Extender (#2) (adds another 10 inches (25 cm’s) to the waist size at very low price (saves on inventory costs),
15 Buttons/Pins (#6)and 3 Keys (#5).

All of the above items can handle any known restraint situation quickly and in full patient comfort.

LIMB BELTS #4 11.11.2007

The Universal Limb belts handle both wrists and ankles without confusion. Kevlar makes them twice as strong as leather but allows washing and drying in half an hour. Also auto-clavable. Fully anti-microbial and fire retardent.

Velcro lock is a one touch system that locks at an angle to the limb to prevent patient from sliding out and does not create open gaps or tight spots. Much higher patient comfort.

The straps do not need to be detached in order to secure the patient to the same straps.

The Velcro cuff locks are needed for speed and are unique in their strength (test them at our booth); however for longer term security the overlapping strap covers the Velcro to prevent the patient from removal of cuff.

Attachment straps are very long and can be attached to each other (to pass under stretcher) or to any points on a bed/stetcher/chair.

Same Limb belts can be configured to walking belts to premit patient to smoke, for example, and still be secured.

LOCKING SYSTEM (Button/Pins #6 and Magnetic KEY #5) 11.11.2007

The Pinel Pins are made from non-magnetic stainless steel and much wider to fir tihgter into the grommet holes.

Buttons and Key are male/female matched to reduce magnetic force.

All magnetism is contained in the protective areas of the Key. Stray magnetism can cause serious problems problems with sensitive electronic equipment such as Pace Makers.

Universal WAIST BELT with PELVIC #1P 11.11.2007

Rotating torso belt consisting of layered materials of Kevlar center core and outside brushed polyester. Anti-microbial and fire retardent. Uncutable. Used for Bed and Chair. Washes and Dries in 30 minutes. Last twice as long as currenlty used materials.

Used in both bed and chairs in full safety.

Pelvic strap does not allow Waist belt to travel over thorax.
