Business activities:
We develop and supply efficient, high-performance material flow systems, configured mainly from standard components, that offer an excellent return on investment. Our systems can be customized for any of a wide range of tasks in virtually any industrial sector. We deliver and install them anywhere in the world.
We apply our resources and expertise to develop, design and build fully automated transport systems, mobile transport systems and system components (OEM products). We have the skills and resources to handle anything from single elements or sub-units to major projects. All our products – from individual vehicle controllers and navigation systems to the overall guidance and control systems are proprietary products.

New generation control systems perform more control tasks by integrating lifts and hoists, material handling technologies, dishwashers, gates etc.
Compared to the past, today’s guidance systems assume an ever increasing number of administrative tasks. In distributed plants transported goods need to be managed, too. Different containers for such items as food, laundry, sterile goods or waste materials require different treatment not only during transport but also in the container storage areas. A continuous tracking of the containers calls for storage space management.
The MLR guidance control systems offer new functionalities such as planning and simulation, schedule and container management, a communication manager plus means of transport optimization, energy and maintenance management.

The underride tractors are based on MLR’s CAESAR range of AGVs, radically modified and optimized for their task to transport containers in hospitals. These AGVs are built entirely of stainless steel. All cover panels and the lift unit are completely sealed (IP54).
This means the vehicles can be disinfected using hot steam jets from all sides – even underneath – in compliance with increasingly rigorous hygiene standards.
The vehicles are equipped with integrated barcode scanners or RFID readers to identify the containers and to track them continuously.
The AC drive systems are fully encapsulated to keep noise levels down. The drive technology is engineered to allow the AGVs to move forwards and backwards equally fast (maximum speed 1.7 m/s). Safety in both directions is ensured by laser scanners at the front and rear of each vehicle.
The vehicles, which use a magnetic guidance system, communicate with the control system via a broadband link.
Our logistics management system LogOS-Hospital controls and coordinates AGV operation (software module LogOS-FTS).
