Company Profile
Lombard Medical Technologies PLC (Polymer Coatings Division)
The Polymer Coatings Division specialises in biomaterial sciences involved in the development of novel technologies for the healthcare industry. The core technology of the division is currently focused on developing:
· Polymer coatings for drug eluting stents.
· Coatings of cardiovascular and urology devices to improve their biocompatibility and surface properties.
· Hydrogel wound care products.
We have developed a series of products, including drug delivery coatings for coronary stents that will deliver one or more drugs on a programmable basis. We are in discussions with several companies with a view to licensing out the coatings for the treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular disease as well as applications for urology and dermatology.

Anson Refix™ 09.11.2007
Currently for use in open surgery, Anson Refix™ is a unique repositionable nitinol clip. It is the first European and US regulatory body cleared product in this line*.
Anson Refix™ is also being developed for endovascular applications.
EndoRefix 09.11.2007
The EndoRefix repositionable Nitinol fixation stapler is a new endoluminal fixation system and has, in vitro, demonstrated an ability to fix strongly a migrating stent graft, so that it has the potential to be not only a repair device but also used in new implantations.
Features:
In certain anatomies some competitor stent grafts may migrate which could lead to endoleaks. Current treatment is restricted to either another stent graft procedure or open surgical repair.
EndoRefix is a low profile device which delivers a repositionable clip through the graft and wall of the aorta in order to hold the graft in position. This will be a percutaneous procedure and the clip can be placed to help resist further graft migration (post implant) or most likely at the time of implantation to help resist migration.
Thoracic Stent Graft 09.11.2007
About Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms (TAA):
The thoracic aorta lies inside the chest and requires similar access techniques to open heart surgery. This can involve splitting the sternum and retracting the rib cage or, if the disease is more localised, displacing a pair of ribs to gain access to the chest. The first procedure is very traumatic and has a long recovery period and the second procedure provides very limited access. Therefore, there is a clear requirement for a minimally invasive device and procedure which allows access without the problems inherent in the traditional treatments.
TAA stent grafts hold great promise not only for treating TAA’s, but also for other anomalies in the thoracic aorta, including acute and chronic dissections, penetrating ulcers, pseudo-aneurysms and traumatic transactions.
