Association for the Development of Electronic Services in Medicine
The GEDIM AG develops telemedical services and prepares the way for their introduction onto the market. The health system in the Federal Republic of Germany is faced with a mountain of costs. This is partially caused by inflexible and expensive process patterns in the health system.
By developing telematic services the GEDIM AG is attempting to simplify procedures here, without the quality of medical care and the human factor in this society having to suffer.
In the case of electronic data processing and transmission in medicine, the guarantee of data security is a critical point. Apart from the patient and the attending doctor, no one should have access to such sensitive data. One of the focal points of the GEDIM AG’s development activity is to develop process routes and encryption technology that ensure that no unauthorised persons are able to have a look at the information.
The first concrete projects for the GEDIM AG deal with the control of wound healing processes (TeleBefund) and the exchange of consultation between specialist doctors, also known as consultant doctors (TeleKonsil).
