About us
The new CEO of the Berlinger & Co. AG is Daniel Schwyter -Berlinger. His wife, Andrea Berlinger Schwyter and her parents Liselotte and Jürg Berlinger are members of the administrative board. Andrea also shares the responsibility for the Marketing and Sales Department with Mr. Andreas Giger and Mr. Roger Sabat. Liselotte Berlinger is responsible for the personnel staff and is head of the doping-control-kit production. Jürg Berlinger, who was the “captain” of the Berlinger crew for the last thirty years and entrusted his son in law with the operating lead in 2005, holds the position of the Chairman of the administrative board. The technical department is also faced with a change. From mid 2006, Mr. Stefan Giger takes over the lead from Mr. Karl Egli who was responsible for so many new developments and innovations during the past. Karl Egli will remain a member of the administrative board where his advice will be highly valued. Mr. Claude Hafner, a well experienced Electronic Engineer, leads the department of development and production in the sector of temperature monitoring devices. All the clients of the Berlinger Companies can rely on a very experienced and competent team.

In recent years, with the decline of the textile trade, our firm has branched out into new fields of activity. So we are now concentrating on three operation fields which complement each other

Trade - Conversion - Production

Trade For over 20 years we have been agents in Switzerland for several reputable firms. Gottlieb Binder GmbH, Germany, well known and innovative producers of “Kletten®” (velcro) is one of them. Another example is BN International, Holland, with their wide range of book-bindings and covers.
Recently we have taken over the agency of Q-tag AG which develops electronic devices for temperature control. Berlinger was instrumental in founding this company and today is the majority shareholder. Q-tag links perfectly with our 15 years experience with WHO & Unicef projects, monitoring Vaccines and blood samples in particular.

Conversion means “obtaining raw materials and finishing”. For decades this applied mainly to the textile section. Today Berlinger obtains & finishes various raw materials at their own initiative for firms who either want to out-source articles or are looking for solutions for their complex requirements. For example developed velcro applications for tunnel construction and various transport systems and last but not least together with 3M, the world famous American based company, the VCCM card (temperature control cards for vaccine).

Berlinger Special AG

In 1998 a subsidiary company developed from one of these niche products. It is mainly concerned with the production and distribution of Doping Control Equipment in Sport. Today we supply top security equipment, which started as a joint development with the Swiss Olympic Committee to the whole world, also for big events such as the Olympics and all kinds of World Championships.
