Founded in 2004, Avo Photonics provides advanced contract manufacturing services for photonic and microelectronic customers in the medical, military, aerospace, communications and industrial markets. Avo Photonics designs products using in-house expertise in System, Optical, Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical/RF and Materials engineering. Electro-Optic Testing 13.09.2007

Avo Photonics offers both functional and environmental stress testing in support of our manufacturing. Avo has installed an extensive test capability to support its customers’ products from probing at chip level to completed assembly and burn-in. This functional testing includes both standard and custom test sets. We have a wide variety of equipment used to measure both optical and electrical parameters. We make use of Labview for control and to acquire parameters for the manufacturing database. A list of some of the optical and electrical parameters that we currently measure is shown below.

This allows us to efficiently determine where the appropriate trade-offs are to be made to create a design that meets our customer’s specifications for price, performance, size and quality. Our rapid prototype process focuses on accessible off-the-shelf components, known good manufacturing processes, and in-house design expertise to provide a working part in the shortest possible time.
