Stainless Steels for medical applications

ACNIS International holds a stock of two implantable grades of stainless steel as well as a few non implantable grades.

Implantable grades for implants :

316LVM (1.4441), Electro Slag Remelted (ESR), according to ASTM F138 and ISO 5832-1, available in bars and offered in diameters 0,8 to 100 mm.

Rex 734, High Nitrogen-Alloyed Stainless Steel, Pressure Electro Slag Remelted (PESR), according to ASTM F1586 and ISO 5832-9, available in bars and offered in diameters 7 to 70 mm.
With a higher content of nitrogen, it has superior properties than 316LVM.

Non implantable grades for instrumentation :

17.4 PH according to NF S 94-090 for instrumentation, available in bars (diameters 6 to 70 mm) and in flat bars.

Other special steels for instrumentation, on request.

Titanium for medical applications

Thanks to an excellent biocompatibility with human tissues and a good wear resistance, titanium has become the favourite metal for orthopaedic devices.

Most commonly used grades are :

commercially pure (CP) grades :
- grade 1, grade 2, grade 3 and grade 4, delivered according to ASTM F67 and/or ISO 5832-2

alloyed grades :
-Ti 6Al 4V ELI (Extra Low Interstitial), delivered according to ASTM F136 and/or ISO 5832-3
-Ti 6Al 7Nb, delivered according to ASTM F1295 and/or ISO 5832-11

ACNIS International has sustained activities in this industry and exports to about 30 countries.

A large range of products are offered :
bars in length usually ranging from 3000 to 4000 mm (or cut to a smaller length if required)
….. Ø1 to 30 mm, general tolerance h9 (or tighter on demand),
….. Ø 30 to 110 mm,
coils, sheets, plates,
wire (minimum diameter 0,025 mm),
stranded cable.
