About ABCD GmbH
The recognition of the oxidative stress as a cause as well as an accompanying phenomenon of the civilization illnesses and ageing still before the specific organ and tissue damages not ascertainable by means of the preclinical diagnostics, is defined as the “pre-preclinical” diagnostics.
By means of application of the systems approach (world-wide patented methods realized in a measuring instrument and operational Kits as well as a two-dimensional evaluation diagram), an earliest recognition of the premorbid condition, proof of healths gaffes of the sport, under stress, in environment-loaded areas and at work (professional pollutant exposition) as well as a judgment of the effectiveness of conventional and alternative therapies are possible.

The minilum® system – a Tool for Express Monitoring
of the State of Health and of Product Qualities
Summary
In organism as in “dead” matter oxidation processes lead to illness, rust, putrefaction and premature ageing. Anti-oxidative effective substances serve as protection against this.
With the temperature controlled chemiluminometer minilum® and appropriate kits oxidative processes and the effectiveness of antioxidants can be examined efficiently.
The world-wide patented system can be used for routine and research tasks. In medicine it offers a precise as well as time and cost-efficient control of the degree of the oxidative stress, which is seen as a mayor cause and/or accompanying phenomenon of “civilisation” illnesses.
The minilum® system is also very useful as a tool to measure aging processes in the foods, beverage, tobacco, pharmaceutics, cosmetics and other industries.
Components of the System Approach: Procedure and Application Concept
The minilum® system uses the thermo-initiated chemoluminescence (TIC), a measuring method for anti-radical qualities of materials. The measurement principle is based on a well-known phenomenon of the radical formation during a thermally initiated decay of azo-compounds. This prinicple was modified for routine applications. The chemical compositions (kits) and hardware solutions are patently covered.
The minilum® system has a very high sensitivity and an outstanding exactitude of measurement. Material requirements are in the nanomolar range, e.g. a microlitre tenth of the blood plasma. In the same measuring system both water- and fat-soluble materials can be quantitatively examined.
More over the minilum® system measures oxidative stress by determination of the anti-radical characteristics of proteins. This determination method allows a very early identification of oxidative stress. It is patently covered, too.
The minilum® system has - by the combination of these patented advantages - a unique selling proposition.
5 Kits are offered currently:
- ARAP: Proof of the oxidative caused modification of proteins and lipoproteins in body fluids as measure of the oxidative stress;
- ARAP-plus: Measurement of the integral and partial anti-oxidative capacity of water-soluble antioxidants in body fluids, selective determinations of the uric acid, vitamin C, evaluation/judgement of the bio-availability of anti-oxidative effective materials from foods, vegetable extracts and pharmacological preparations.
- ARA-W: Quantification of water-soluble antioxidants.
- ARA-L: Quantification of fat-soluble antioxidants.
- ARA-N: Proof of the oxidative caused modification of nucleotides and nucleic acids

Arap
a biomarker of oxidative stress
The ARAP (antiradical ability of proteins) is based on the patented discovery, that oxidatively modified proteins acquire antiradical properties which were not present before.
Modified proteins in human plasma correlate to chronic under-supply with antioxidants and can be found even if other antioxidative parameters are normal. ARAP determination therefore is helpful for consulting patients about individual antioxidative therapy and healthy life style.
